My career started at Burnt Mill Academy in 2013 as a Co-Educator. Early on, there was an opportunity to work in a primary setting at Freshwaters Academy. This kickstarted my love of primary teaching. I followed the Schools Direct route into teaching and worked at Roydon Primary Academy for 8 years.  I  developed a passion for teaching reading, reading for pleasure, and reading aloud. I believe that developing confident and fluent readers is key to developing articulate, expressive children both in their writing and in their oral skills. The greatest joy in my role is reading to a class of children on the edge of their seats enraptured in a story that I am sharing.
